What we're seeing
At PS 97, chronic absenteeism has risen 15% over the 5-year window — from 26.8% in 2015 to 30.7% in 2020. Despite that, the gap vs US average of ~28% has actually widened — from 1.2% above in 2015 to 2.7% above in 2020.
